Holiday Tree? ...What?

There are few things that get on my ass faster then the fumbling shame spiral of "Political Correctness". I can think of no greater waste of time and energy (except nascar) then trying to not offend people all of the time. Frankly, no matter what I do, I manage to offend somebody almost anytime I open my mouth to say something, so guess what? Fuck you. There, we'll get that out of the way now. The irony of PC, is how often is reveals racism and prejudice with greater expediency and accuracy then any slur can. Nobody thought you were a rascist until you spent 2 hours saying you weren't.

And now the festering shitrain has come to roost in our off time as well. Before it only really had access to you at work, but now they decided to come after Christmas. I remember a number of years ago there was a big stink about abbreviating Christmas down to "Xmas", for the sake of...I dunno, Bus signs? I could care less why, but it always struck me as a useless argument, but now we've somehow managed to get some backspin on the fucker and come all the way around to wanting Christmas OUT as opposed to defending it visciously. I read that red and green cookies had been banned from schools in the states because the color scheme promoted Christmas, and not ALL holidays. Are you fucking kidding? Cookies? Red...Green? Because we all know that Red and Green didn't exist in the color spectrum until Christ was born. Everything was black and white then.

I don't get why people would want to take Christmas out of this time, anymore then I would if they wanted to call Hannukah something else, like.. I dunno, "CandleTime!", come the fuck on. The point of this IS to celebrate those things, the savior, the miracle on the 9th night, what have you. I'm not Christian, I don't hold the 25th in any reverance, but I recognize why people do. And I recognize why a menorah holds power for people, and custom. Why would we not have that in the holiday?

Honestly. People. If we remove that significance and importance from this time of year, then why the FUCK are we having a holiday in the first place? You don't want to celebrate the birth of christ? Okay...why the FUCK are you taking time off in December then? If you're going to have a non-partisan holiday, why would you have it in the middle of Winter? Are you stupid?

More then that though, even without the religious meaning for me, I've always associated Christmas with family and friends. With hanging out and relaxing, and having those times where you don't have to worry about work and Bullshit. It isn't a "Holiday", it's fucking Christmas, and while it means something different to me, then say a monk, it still has meaning, and you're fucking with that.

SO to the PC dogs who are getting uppitty: Shut your god damn faces. You aren't helping anybody, or protecting anyone, you're just pissing people off because you want to be important. You don't want a tree? Fine, go sit under a lamp post, just STFU.
