Friends,
I think we were all in shock after Colbert's uplifting presentation at the "White House Press Correspondent's Dinner", to come into work on Monday and discover no one else has seen it. Oh sure, everyone at least heard about Steve Bridges juvenile attack... mimicking the President Bush in a manner perhaps suited for the schoolyard playground. Here's a tip Bridges, we're at war. Maybe you should remember that, before you go insulting your commander in chief.
No matter how the liberal media tries to spin the event, as some sort of embarassment to President Bush, the fact remains that those of us who did watch the event saw perhaps the most loving tribute to a sitting president since 1962 when Marilyn Monroe sang Happy Birthday to JFK. Oh sure the media reported that tribute. I wonder why? Cough [liberal]. Cough [commie]. Cough [Kennedy], pwat.
I'm a Canadian, so as disturbing as I find the media's blackout of Colbert's tribute (and believe me, it extends to Canada), I've got to warn you: it can and will get worse. Living in Canada is like living in a giant Liberal echo chamber. If you don't want your country to turn into a Godless communist hell hole, you've got to take back the media, starting today! I'm willing to do all I can to help (all I can while remaining comfortably seated behind my keyboard), hell we've got troops in Afghanistan too. Sometimes I think the only thing keeping Canadian troops alive it President Bush's unique ability to solve problems through diplomacy.
And so, if you haven't seen Colbert's tribute to Bush, I implore you to click on the following video links. Much as Colbert's oration was lovingly crafted sylable by sylable, this video is a labour of love. We condensed Colbert's tribute down to its essense, and split-screened ABC News with C-SPAN coverage to show not just Colbert's presentation, but Bush's response.
Sure, I'm in there too, yammering away. But feel free to skip ahead... should my captivating charisma will allow it. If you've already seen Colbert's tribute, hopefully this video's split-screen presentation will still be of interest. But either way, be sure to tell your friends. Because if you aren't willing to be the media... who will? [Answer: Godless liberals.]
