R4NT – For the Girls Edition

by David Gluzman

Before I even start to talk about the new issue, I’d like to give some big props to Ian, our underwater friend this month. We went out a few weekends ago with the plan of buying some cheap scuba gear and shooting outside of the local Wal-Mart. Thankfully this quickly evolved into a much crazier shoot. After hitting the LRT (Calgary’s train line), and walking all over downtown while being stared, pointed at and yes even laughed at; we managed to get some super fun shots. So thanks again Ian, you’re a rock star for having that mask on for the better part of the day (which btw was too small and had to be jimmy rigged to fit).

Why the girls edition? Well if you checkout the video of James Blunt, you’ll quickly figure that one out (he’s sexy isn’t he?). So while you’re watching James take off his clothes in what looks like snow, make sure to checkout Ninja Tune’s Summer of love feature: featuring some clips from: Dwight Trible, Pest, Treva Whateva & Cut Chemist.

I’d like to welcome on board ‘Sassy C’ who this month has writing an excellent piece ‘The dreams we dream”. And if that’s got you down, you might want to checkout a mix of an article from Gord regarding why he wishes he could be back in school (bonus points for picking out where you might have seen bits of the video before).

By some miracle Crom manages to ring in an interview with Serpentor, which proves to be most entertaining interviews I’ve EVER had the pleasure to read.

Rounding out the issue we’ve got a very in-depth comparison of why the BBC is better than the CBC and why no one should really care that they are currently on strike. We’ve also got lined up some super hot cars that are coming out in 2006, and our new resident movie reviewer has some choice words regarding The 40 year old virgin.

All in all a spectacular issue and I’d like to thank everyone as always for taking the time towards contributing to the 55th edition of R4NT.
