Delirium Dive

Delirium Dive

What a weekend... Parties, dinners, presents... Wait. Presents... Delirium Dive baby!

We got to hit the dive, with a group of close friends and an acquaintance named Karin who is a top notch freestyle skier. Double Black to the max. For those that don't know about Delirium Dive, it's at Sunshine Village (past Banff), and it's sorta in the backcountry section of the hill. You also require to have avalanche gear, such as a transceiver, shovels and probes, in order to be allowed to gain access to this area.

What an awesome time! I had only done one prior run on a "double black diamond" (at Lake Louise), but this was next level. After hiking up from the chair to the top of the mountain, you were presented with the "hard way" (off the cliff) or the "easier way" down some metal stairs into an easier drop in point. Needless to say I went to the easier point, however So-Co, Jay and Karin took one of the more aggressive routes. Nice.

So much powder all around, and overall just an amazing day (the sun was shinning throughout). Thanks to everyone that came and helped organize this day trip, I™m really looking forward to gearing up and doing this sorta skiing more often. Pimp.

Also.. Here™s a quick (under 2 minute) video collage of the day (from my tiny portable Canon camera “ No DSLR today). Nice tumble Jay.
