Alberta Students Rock it Out

So this is old news, but basically wanted to post it in order to say - shove it - to those who think Alberta's (and to a lesser extent Canada's) school system sucks, is underfunded, has major overcrowding issues or whatever the complaint du jour is.
Alberta 15-year-olds are among the world's best students in science, results of an international test show.Results of the 2006 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) show that Alberta students jumped from fourth to second place in science, Alberta Education reported today.
Alberta students came second only to those in Finland. Alberta is the only province whose overall science score, as well as each individual test score, is significantly higher than the Canadian average (Canada as a whole finished 3rd behind Finland and Hong Kong).
And immigrant students in Alberta demonstrated no difference with their non-immigrant counterparts in the province - contrary to international and national trends
Alberta tied for third in reading and tied for fifth in math.
