Facebook to invade your privacy?

I don't dig Facebook. Too much personal info. I know you can lock down your profile, I know it is only visible to "friends" (more commonly known as people you knew 15 years ago and haven't talked to and have no intention of talking to). Maybe I am paranoid, or old school internet and not into this new fangled 2.0 stuff. Or maybe it is the fact when 'everyone' is doing I don't want to do it. Dunno. But I don't like this - you can lock down your profile from users, but not from advertisers.
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Social networking Website Facebook is working on an advertising system to allow marketers to target users with ads based on the information people reveal about themselves on the site, the Wall Street Journal reported in its online edition early on Thursday. The advertising plan is the company's top priority, the Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The company plans to unveil a basic version late this fall, although the plan is at an early stage, according to the report.
Yeah it's not a big deal, but still just one more reason to not use it. At least for me.
