Woman Realizes She is Stupid, Sues Apple

Sigh.

Ok people.

Steve Jobs jobed a bunch of Apple fans with the iPhone. Got it. One woman however is suing Apple and AT&T for "price discrimination, discrimination in offering rebates versus credits, underselling, unfair and deceptive practices" due to the snap $200 price cut in the iPhone. The ol' whoops we pulled a Sony and forgot that price matters thing that went down a month ago. New adapters got screwed. End of story. Get over it. That is the price to pay to think that you look cool for two months, two hundo.

But this chick Dongmei Li, is apparently ticked right off at Apple because she stood in line "for hours" on July 2nd to buy an iPhone and wants $1M in compensatory damages + punitive damages. She must be mad that her nerd status symbol will now be available to (more of) the unwashed masses.

Apple's discrimination in price between early and later purchasers substantially caused the early purchasers to be injured because early purchasers cannot resell their iPhones for the same profit as later purchasers

Whoa whoa whoa. Waaaaaaiiiittttt a second. You are suing Apple and AT&T because your ticked that you can't resell the iPhone for as much money? Ok, if you waited in line for an iPhone you're stupid. But to waste money on a frivolous lawsuit like this? Wow. This is just another example of the horribly litgious lawsuit culture in the States right now. Look I can't stand the ethos of Apple (big surprise). But when someone like Dongmei Li crosses the line from stupidity to insanity I need to say something. I actually kind of hope that the judge doesn't just toss this case out on its ass and makes her suffer through the time and expense of fighting an unwinable battle vs. the turtlenecked fury of Jobs & Co. Dongmei deserves that much.
