Yeah, you’re cool

by MaxPower

The Ontario government teamed up with Richard Branson (why?) to announce a campaign to get "young people" to turn off their lights. The campaign is entitled "Flick Off" - see image below.

Yeah, she's cool.

Oh it forms a naughty word! What a great way to get the attention of "young people"! The government is soooo cool. The website (which I won't even link here) uses phrases like "Go Flick yourself" and "Are we Flicked?".

It is ostensibly designed to help conservation. "We need you to FLICK OFF, and tell everyone you know to FLICK OFF. The more you do it, the cooler it gets. The planet, that is." Haha, wow, that is like typing 8OO8 into your calculator in grade 5.

The best part is that the government sunk $500 LARGE into this. $5 hundo grande? For what? A stunt webpage with the boss of Virgin who loves nothing better than to get free advertising by doing stunts? (Not that there is anything wrong with doing stunts, but spend someone elses money on it).

Oh and the government doesn't recommend kids go to the site. They could be offended. Seriously.

"If your child is in Grade 5, I say log on to the Ministry of the Environment website where we have a kids' program."

Best way to get kids to know how much electricity costs is to get them to pay for their own use - that'd teach em right quick.
