A Brutal Flight

by MaxPower

Everyone has gone through a bad flight.

But how about coming back from a vacation in the Dominican. On a charter. And 8 passengers get sick enough in the air that the plane has to make an emergency landing in Ft. Lauderdale and then the CDC quarantines the plane on landing, not allowing any passengers to get off until the sickness is confirmed as "non-airborne".

Read: a whole family who was staying at some resort in the Dominican ate the same thing right before the flight, got food poisoning and/or e-coli and started puking their guts out on the flight. There isn't enough bathrooms to accomodate all the puking and thus they start using air sickness bags. Then the plane lands and no one is allowed off. The family is then hospitalized. Sweeeeet.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. š„ì A Canada-bound plane is back in the air after being forced to make an emergency landing in Florida because of sick passengers.

Eight passengers felt sick sometime after the flight took off from the Dominican Republic. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport spokesman Greg Meyer says Air Transat flight 477 was quarantined on the runway after it landed late Tuesday.

The ill passengers turned out to be family members who had eaten together. All are hospitalized, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention determined that their illness wasn't airborne.

The flight continued its trip to Edmonton early Wednesday.
