Flew a plane!

This morning I got the chance to take an introduction to flying class at the Springbank airport (just outside of Calgary) with the Calgary Flying Club. Met our instructor, watched a short power point presentation then promptly jumped into the pilot seat of a small 160 or so HP Cessna.

Ha. Here I thought I'd just be doing a left or right turn while in the air.. Nope.. Got the plane to the runway (you steer and break with your feet, freaking bizarre to get used to that one), took her to the skies, passed near Bragg Creek then brought her home.

Obviously with the help of the instructor all along the way, but you literally are in control of the plan during every process (um, stressful, but awesome).. You make a tiny move and you watch the plan take a dive/rise/shift!

Been buzzing about this since landing and am now curious to head out again to potentially get some more hours under my belt. Highly, highly recommended!
