NIN "The Slip" = 100% Free

by Ian Harding

NIN recently made their newest album,"The Slip", available to download... for free.

The Slip, by Nine Inch Nails

And don't worry, "free" doesn't mean NIN didn't put any less effort into this album. I've given it a listen already and its pure NIN, just as everyone likes. Interested? Then go and get it.

Going beyond allowing users to name their own price, Trent Reznor says,

"Thank you for your continued and loyal support over the years -- this one's on me."

Oh and, the album is released under the Creative Commons "attribution noncommercial share-alike" license and there is a small note on the NIN website that states: "We encourage you to remix it, share it with your friends, post it on your blog, play it on your podcast, give it to strangers, etc."

I heard a few weeks ago that Metallica was thinking of doing the same for their upcoming album. I wonder if that will play true or not. We'll see.
